The objective of Network Design and Analysis Lab is to demonstrate the basics of designing a network, taking into consideration the users, services and locations of the hosts. It also focuses on optimizing design of Network through repeated simulations with the aid of Open source simulation frameworks like NS2. It also emphasises on orchestrating procedures of diagnosing various protocol messages like TCP, UDP, ICMP by using Open source Packet Capturing tools like Tcpdump, Wireshark. It also aims at demonstrating key concepts of Network Design such as Subnetting , Network Address Translation by using Open source Emulators like NetKit.

Lab Objectives: Students can Utilize this laboratory to :

1. Execute and evaluate network administration commands and demonstrate their use in different network troubleshooting scenarios

2. Demonstrate  different network scenarios and measure their performance behaviour with the aid of Open Source Simulation Frameworks.

3. Analyse and Diagnose the contents the packet contents of different protocols.

4. Develop Network applications by using Network Programming Languages like SocketAPI, RPC, RMI.

5. Design and setup a organization network using Open Source Tools.
