Open Source Technologies Lab aims at providing knowledge of emerging open source technologies to Students and expose students to open source soft wares. Students can have  access to Courses covering Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration, Red Hat JBoss® Middleware administration and development, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack® Platform administration, depending on their interests as a part of Red Hat Academy Program. 'Red Hat Academy center@APSIT'  is aimed at  turning academic institutions into centers for enterprise ready talent. The Center provides the required technology and support environments with hands-on curriculum, labs, performance-based testing, educator training and support.

ASHNIK and APSIT have collaborated to set up an “Open Source Experimental Zone for Emerging Technologies” as a part of Industry Institute Interaction initiative to help students and faculty members for enhancing their skills in areas of open source technologies including Database, Docker, Elastic Stack Analytics, NGINX,Cloud in this Lab. The aim is to develop sufficient industry needed skills for students.

Lab Objectives: Students can Utilize this laboratory to


  1. To Learn common open source licenses and the impact of choosing a license

  2. To Learn and understand open source project structure and how to successfully setup a project.


 3. To explore Open Source Technologies like Python, Android, GIS, Scilab-Arduino , Docker, Elastic Stack Analytics, NGINX, OpenStack, Drupal, WordPress, R Programming, OpenCv, XaaS, Mono Framework.
