Computer Society of India (CSI):
Computer Society of India is the first and largest body of computer professionals in India. It was started on 6th March 1965 by a few computer professionals and has now grown to be the national body representing computer professionals. It has 72 chapters across India, 511 student branches, and 100,000 members.
CSI Chapter
The Computer Society of India is a non-profit professional meet to exchange views and information, learn and share ideas. The wide spectrum of members is committed to the advancement of theory and practice of computer Engineering and Technology System, Science and Engineering, Information Processing and related Arts and sciences. The Society also encourages and assists professionals to maintain integrity and competence of the profession and fosters a sense of partnership amongst members. Besides the activities held at the Chapters and Student Branches, the Society also conducts periodic conferences, seminars.
With a view to provide a diverse platform to our aspiring engineers, Department of Information Technology inaugurated the student chapter. This CSI Institutional membership and CSI Student chapter is an opportunity for networking with professionals, knowledge sharing through CSI Publication & Portal etc. It provides huge, long lasting benefits of value to the institution, its management, faculties and students.
Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE):
IEEE student chapter was started to help students to participate actively in technical events such as paper presentations, international conferences and provide accessibility to research articles, technical papers and other online resources. It also helps to develop social and professional contacts. It is also a platform for exchanging ideas about recent trends and technologies. It also helps in building and maintaining team building skills, leadership and interpersonal skills.
- AIML Student Association (AIMLSA):
With a motive to provide to exhibit, explore and develop technical skills of the students the institute had planned to form departmental and institute level associations for the students. CMSA was inaugurated and formed on July 2022 with a motive of creating a bond among students and working towards departmental and personal excellence. It provides students opportunities to learn various technologies and team work ethics. AIMLSA emphasizes on development and enablement of every individual associated. AIMLSA also promotes “for the students by the students” ideology for collaborative technical uplift. CMSA overall brings together all students and creates a bonding which helps in one’s intellectual progress.
- AIML Club :
The Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AIML) Club was formally inaugurated on 8th September 2022. Its aim is to build a culture of innovation, research and hands-on learning in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and related emerging technologies. The club conducts workshops, expert sessions, bootcamps and certification programmes, including NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute certification workshops. Topics include data preprocessing, supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, Natural Language Processing, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, AI agents and Neuro-Symbolic AI. Sessions are increasingly delivered by student Club Ambassadors and Members under faculty guidance, which builds peer learning and leadership among students. The club also reaches beyond the department through AI workshops for Civil Engineering students and outreach sessions for school students. Club members have won national recognition: two winning teams at Smart India Hackathon 2023, first prize at the IBM Hack Challenge 2023, and first place among 310+ teams at IEEE TechSangam 2025.
Coding Nexus :
Coding Nexus is the department’s coding club. It works to strengthen students’ programming, software development and problem-solving skills, and to prepare them for industry. The club runs its own online coding platform (www.codingnexus.apsit.edu.in), which it uses for coding contests such as the JAVA-BYTE Challenge, a Java programming test for second-year students. Its activities serve students from first year to final year. These include career guidance sessions on domains, programming languages, Data Structures & Algorithms and placement preparation; hands-on sessions on Git and GitHub; and a three-day Web Development Bootcamp. It has also held “Corporate Life + AI: Beyond the Code”, a 3.5-hour product sprint in which cross-functional student teams took on industry roles and worked with Jira, Git branching and CI/CD to ship AI features. Together with the AIML Student Association, the club also conducts sessions on system design, scalability and deployment, bringing in practising developers to share real-world experience.
