Basic Workshop is a place where students acquire knowledge on the operation of various processes involved in manufacturing and production. The Workshop Practice course makes students competent in handling practical work in engineering environment. Basic Workshop is also involved in different maintenance/repair works for the Institute.

Objectives Basic Workshop:

1. To understand safety regulations in the basic workshop.
2. To impart training to help the students develop engineering skill sets.
3. This exercise also aims in inculcating respect for physical work and hard labour in addition to some amount of value addition by getting exposed to interdisciplinary engineering domains. 
4. To familiarise various basic trades like fitting, carpentry, Lathe, Electrical Board Wiring, PCB, Forging (Smithy), Computer & Networking, Plumbing, Welding, Sheet metal working & brazing, etc.
